Landmark legal decision protects original crash game in key UK market

On 1 August 2025, the UK High Court issued a significant interim injunction in favour of SPRIBE, blocking Aviator LLC, a Georgian entity, from launching or marketing a copycat version of the popular Aviator crash game in the UK.

This ruling safeguards SPRIBE’s intellectual property rights and reinforces the company’s position as the sole global owner and original creator of the Aviator game, which has become a category-defining product in crash gaming since its debut in 2018.

The Court’s order was triggered by Aviator LLC’s stated intention to release and promote a clone of the Aviator game in the UK market under the same name, despite SPRIBE’s registered UK gambling licence and established brand presence in the region since December 2020.

SPRIBE founder David Natroshvili welcomed the Court’s decision, stating:

“I am pleased that the highly respected UK Court supports our position and has granted an injunction preventing Aviator LLC from launching and promoting its copycat game. SPRIBE created the Aviator crash game in 2018 and is the sole owner of the game globally. We will continue to take all necessary steps to protect SPRIBE, our partners and players.”

The ruling highlights how Aviator LLC engaged in misleading promotional activity targeting SPRIBE’s UK customers and blatant copyright infringement, while attempting to evade legal scrutiny by obscuring its role through a series of shifting licensing entities.

In a pointed rebuke, the UK Court criticised Aviator LLC’s behaviour during proceedings, describing their actions as “childlike” and “petulant“, citing contradictory evidence and a refusal to cooperate transparently with the Court.

The decision marks a major step in SPRIBE’s ongoing global effort to enforce IP protections, ensure fair competition, and maintain trust across its partner network and player base. It also sets a strong precedent for defending innovation in the online gaming industry against copycat behaviour and brand misappropriation.
