SIS (Sports Information Services) has been recognised with the prestigious Princess Royal Training Award for its LEADERship Programme, a development initiative that has shaped the careers of employees and future leaders across the business. The accolade, announced on 15th August to mark HRH The Princess Royal’s 75th birthday, celebrates the company’s ongoing commitment to learning and development.
The award, granted by the City & Guilds Foundation, acknowledges organisations that build outstanding training schemes delivering tangible results. For SIS, this represents a major endorsement of its investment in people, alongside its reputation as a long-standing provider of 24/7 live betting services worldwide.
Developing leaders through the LEADERship Programme
The LEADERship Programme, designed and delivered in partnership with training consultancy Co-Creation, has been running for five years. Delegates engage in a 12-month learning journey that equips them with the tools to progress within SIS, from confidence building and delegation to presenting and cross-department collaboration.
The impact has been measurable, with programme graduates steadily rising through the company ranks and taking on senior leadership responsibilities. This success story reflects how strategic training initiatives can strengthen both employee engagement and long-term business growth.
Industry recognition in the tenth anniversary year
Launched in 2016, the Princess Royal Training Awards mark their tenth anniversary this year, adding symbolic weight to SIS’s achievement. The award will be formally presented at a ceremony later in 2025, highlighting the role of the programme in developing leaders prepared for the challenges of a digital future.
Gail Haworth, Head of HR Business Partnering at SIS, said:
“Over the last five years, our graduates from the Programme have continued to progress impressively, taking on more responsibilities and genuine leadership roles throughout the business. With that in mind, it’s a great honour to accept the Princess Royal Training Award, in this special tenth anniversary award year.”
Co-Creation’s role in shaping future leaders
Training partner Co-Creation has been instrumental in the programme’s success, delivering master classes and coaching sessions that align leadership development with SIS’s company vision.
Kath Thomas at Co-Creation commented:
“We are incredibly proud to see the LEADERship programme receive such a prestigious accolade, which is a testament to the long-term investment in people by SIS and their belief in the power of purposeful development.”
Keith Stopforth added:
“Co-creating this journey with the SIS team over the last five years has been a privilege, and it has been inspiring to watch so many individuals grow into confident, capable leaders making real impact across the business.”
SIS: investing in people and innovation
SIS’s focus on employee growth complements its established position in the betting industry. With a portfolio spanning 60,000 annual horse and greyhound racing events, over 225,000 esports contests, and more than 330,000 live numbers draws each year, the company underpins its global offering with both cutting-edge content and a skilled, motivated workforce.
The award underscores how investment in talent development supports SIS’s dual mission: delivering high-quality betting products and preparing its workforce to lead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
