Moon Intelligence unveils Venture Capital platform targeting betting start-ups

New initiative to back early-stage entrepreneurs and accelerate US growth strategy

Moon Intelligence, the London-based provider of bespoke solutions for market makers and betting syndicates, has announced the launch of a dedicated Venture Capital platform aimed at supporting early-stage entrepreneurs operating within the gambling and betting ecosystem.

The new platform will provide start-ups with access to capital, strategic mentorship and Moon Intelligence’s proprietary data infrastructure, as well as its extensive global network of partners. The initiative is designed to help founders scale their businesses while benefiting from the firm’s expertise in trading, analytics and risk management.

The establishment of a Venture Capital arm also forms a key pillar of Moon Intelligence’s international growth strategy, particularly its expansion into the US. Through its proprietary market-making model and a team of 50 analysts operating across 35 countries, the company is seeking to deliver deeper liquidity to US prediction markets across a broad range of sports and betting markets.

Alexandre Luneau, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Moon Intelligence, said the platform is intentionally flexible in the types of projects it will support.

“We are open to working with a wide range of profiles,” Luneau said. “If you are a professional bettor who is struggling to scale, we want to hear from you. If you are building a product with strong potential but need an experienced partner, reach out. By formalising our Venture Capital arm, we aim to attract ambitious entrepreneurs who can benefit from both our capital and our operational know-how.”

The launch follows a series of successful early investments made by Moon Intelligence. Among them was an investment in football data specialist StatsBomb, which exited in 2024 following its acquisition by Hudl.

Moon Intelligence has also pursued more unconventional partnerships. A collaboration with Project Football resulted in the exclusive engagement of a high-performance football quantitative analyst who developed a proprietary predictive model. By backing the sole trader, Moon Intelligence was able to integrate advanced independent analytics into its wider trading and risk management ecosystem, while retaining full exclusivity over the outputs.

Sebastien Sabic, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Moon Intelligence, said these early investments demonstrated the value of a flexible and entrepreneur-focused approach.

“Our initial investments showed how effective it can be to support talent in different forms,” Sabic said. “The partnership with Project Football is a great example – by investing in an individual trader with a clear edge in certain football leagues and giving them access to better data, we helped expand their coverage while strengthening our own offering. We are always keen to work with smaller, highly skilled professional punters and build structures that allow both sides to grow.”
